Green Flag Award 2023

Exciting news to share!!!!!

The All Hallows’ Churchyards Team is very pleased to announce that they have again been awarded the Green Flag Community Award for the 18th time since 2005, when a team took on the task to renovate the overgrown churchyards. This award is recognised internationally and 393 community awards have been made this year and only 2 from churchyards. We Are One of those!!!!

We must thank the dedicated work of our team who work 12 months of the year in all weathers to ensure we have great churchyards open to all.We must also thank the Adopt a Grave volunteers who make sure that old and neglected graves are brought back to life with love and colour. This project is supported by the village Uniformed groups, Burton Environment Group, Kirkburton History Group for assistance with the ongoing burial ground management system, our MP Mark Eastwood and local councillor John Taylor.

None of this would be possible without the help and ongoing assistance of the church community and Parochial Church Council.

We would welcome anyone who has time to spare, however little,  who would like to help out, to ensure the continuity to the upkeep of our award winning churchyards into the future.

Thank you
